Its cute to say "oh were all aliens", and if you want to eliminate an original point of reference for the word, sure its true. But then we are all aliens simply by being from a country different than someone else, or a different town, or a different family tree. It kind of kills any real meaning when you do that, because yes of course everyone and everything is technically alien if you include all points of reference.
To give it meaning it has to have context, and in the context of terrestrial life against extra terrestrial life, no we are not aliens.
We are not aliens as aliens are defined as life not native to its environment, in this context: Extraterrestrial life, i.e life not from earth.
...The sentiment is sweet though.
but whatever aliens live
In Swedish we have a specific word for creatures from other planets so it's a bit easier to keep apart; "Utomjording" Which means; Someone from outside our planet. ("Utom" = outside, "jord" = earth)
I think this was great!
But yes, to make it more interesting...we live on a planet in a galaxy with billions of stars that each have planets and moons. Then there are billions of galaxies in our universe with billions of stars with billions of planets and moons. After that there may be a possibility that there are billions of _universes_. Haha. Each with billions of galaxies, with billions of stars, moons and planets. So when somebody tells me they don't believe aliens exist I just look at them like they're crazy because there is absolutely no way Earth is the only one.
