With or Without Texture? by MySweetQueen With or Without Texture? by MySweetQueen
the animal is an adoptable I've been holding, but don't pay attention to that, I'll put it on sale later.
I want you to look at the colors and texture, I'm experimenting and it seems putting textures to drawings have good results, but I'm not sure...

I personally think textures in drawings like this ruin them like a stain, but that's probably because I'm not used to it.
Help me with this please >< do it looks better with or without the texture?

Con ella, le da más realismo y no quedan colores tan planos. pero esa es mi opinión, claro, de las dos formas es bonito.

With !!! It actually puts some reality/dimension into it ! lol I don't know how to explain it. but its a plus when you try and put a texture in with a drawing ^^

Hmm, texture is difficult and depends alot on what you want to say about the surface you're putting it on. Like the texture for fur would be real different from feathers or wings or hair or bare skin for that matter. So for this I would suggest keep the textures on the main body at least. The main body, especially around the neck, chest, and face looks good with this texture. However adding a different texture, very lightly, to the mane and tail might help give the feeling of hair to your creature. You might even want to attempt to up the opacity or lighten the textures in some areas like around the inside of legs and the tips of the horns so there's a fade out.

Texture in this context, that is going from something that is super flat and graphic, takes some getting used to and there best done gently and with control. Texture can help add variety and break up a flat area but too much can add glaring contrasts and be distracting.
